MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT – WP1

EPICUR > Our Alliance > Activities > MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT – WP1

The first Work Package creates the framework to enable the successful completion of the project activities on time as well as the fulfillment of the project contractual obligations without major conflicts or deviations.

Activities

It is organised around 4 activities:

  1. “Project management monitoring and implementation” within each partner institution, by the setting-up local Partner Implementation Teams (PIT) gathering all those persons involved in EPICUR, and through the regular monitoring and reporting of the project implementation through the project collaborative tool and 6 six-monthly reports.
  2. “Foundations for project implementation” defining the contractual documents, the organisation of a team-building and kick-off event , and the set-up of project management tools.
  3. “Technical project monitoring” ensuring quality throughout the project’s lifetime, through regular meetings and monitoring. To do so, the partners have set up a Project Management Team (PMT) gathering Partner project officers and WP leaders and chaired by the LP Strategic coordinator, allowing continuous discussion through monthly meetings. The technical monitoring will be done through regular project reports submitted to the Steering Committee every six months.
  4. “Strategic project monitoring” ensuring the correlation between the EPICUR long-term strategy and the project activities, making sure that the latter stays in line with the Mission statement and contributes to reaching the long-term strategy’s objectives. This Activity also contains the interim and final reports to the EU institutions.

Work package 1 interacts with all other WPs, and more specifically with WP6 “Sustainability ” since it lays the foundations for EPICUR’s long-term strategy : the current project is the pilot phase in a long-term process of creating a European University embedded into the partner universities. The WP1 therefore allows the partners to test the governance structures and the management tools.

Organisation

The Work package 1 is coordinated by the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), however all partner institutions are involved on both a technical and political level.
